SCC Meeting Minutes

Opening:

The regular meeting of Quail Hollow Elementary School Community Council was called to order at 8:00 am October 17, 2023 in Quail Hollow Elementary School conference room by this year’s co-chair Elysia Forsgren taken over by Chair Mike Sax at 8:11.

Approval of Agenda

The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

  1. Open Issues
  • Confirmed SCC training completed by all members
  • Land trust information-update to council
  • School Safety Report-no additional items to add to report. #1 safety concern-Mental Wellness/Digital Citizenship. Two wellness nights planned. Have Tracey Wennerholm and others come to SCC Council to talk about ways students can learn to tools for coping with disappointments.
  • Mike motioned to approve Digital Citizenship plan and Mental Wellness plan and Kraig Lodge approved
  • Mike motioned to approve Safe Walking route plan Elyshia approved.

 

  • School Electronic Device Policy-reviewed school policy on electronic devices. Mike motioned to approve the Electronic Device policy and Breanne approved.
  • Digital Citizenship-Summary of technologies in place to monitor student’s online searches and presence by Nicholas Heinz.
  • White Ribbon Week-March-Elyshia will take lead on the planning committee. Breanne and Stacey will assist along with PTA.
  • Hero Award-Mr. Demill will send out in next Parent Square. Nominations will end will end two weeks after message goes out.
  • Wellness night-next week. October 24th at 6:30. Josh will make flyer and get to Mr. Demill to send out. School counselors and district staff will present resources available to students and parents. Will do in person and Zoom.
