Quail Hollow Elementary School Land Trust Program

Summary of the 2019 – 2020 School Year

The School LAND Trust Program, established by the legislature in 1999, distributes the “annual dividend” from the permanent State School Fund through school districts and charter schools for all public schools in the state. Elected parents, elected teachers, and the school’s principal serve on School Community Councils. School Community Councils in each school prepare a plan to address the school’s greatest academic need.

Goals for the Land Trust plan for 2019 – 2020 were:

Reading:  By Spring of 2020, 85% of Kindergarten and 1st grade students will achieve the district uniform and state goals. 80% of students in grades 1,2,3 will achieve typical or better progress as measured by the Pathways to Progress. 75% of students in 4th & 5th grade will achieve proficient or advanced level on the Reading Inventory Assessment (RI).

Math: By May of 2020, 90% of students at Quail Hollow will meet or exceed proficiency rates on the District Math Computation (M-Comp) and Early Math CBM assessments as measured on the Spring 2020 administration of those assessments.

Plan for Meeting Goals:

Students identified as needing additional instruction in math and/or reading from benchmark testing and teacher professional learning communities will receive additional instruction from specially trained teaching assistants who were hired using Land Trust funds.  This additional instruction is referred to as Tier 2 instruction.  Progress is closely monitored and students are moved into or out off Tier 2 instruction based on their progress.

Results: Due to COVID-19 the results shown are Winter scores not Spring
