Minutes

Welcome: Melinda Rosevear

Minutes from the February 10 meeting were approved online.

Disappointment was expressed in the Digital Respons-Ability classroom presentations scheduled for this week. Other programs available for White Ribbon Week will be examined for next year. Samantha is working with Mr. DeMill and Mr. Lennox to prepare a Peace Path, maybe on a rug, that could be available in a spare classroom for use in conflict situations.

This evening Quail Hollow PTA is presenting a Wellness Night focusing on Emotional Health. Speakers will include Nicholas Lennox, Annie Puchar, and

Dr. Ben Belnap.

Mr. DeMill presented the TSSP and Land Trust Goals developed by the Building Leadership Team of Quail Hollow. Discussion followed about possible expenditures of remaining funds. Strong support was given for a teacher recognition program, similar to ones at Albion and Brighton, that might recognize 2-3 educators and/or staff each trimester. Cherie Sadowski will give the SCC more information about this opportunity to build teacher morale. Mr. DeMill continues to search for well-qualified people to serve as teacher aides or instructional support staff.

A motion was made by Cherie Sadowski and seconded by Samantha Avery to accept the proposed Land Trust Plan for 2022-2023. Passed. The SCC members signed the signature page that accompanies this document.

Mr. DeMill presented Trend Data for the composite scores in Acadience Testing in recent years. It was noted that in many grades, only students qualifying for academic help in mathematics and/or language arts are tested for this data. Consistent progress in math was noted. Progress in reading and language arts varies, with some decline. There is a lack of data in some areas due to school closures during COVID, and several students scores dropped during this stressful time. Also, during the course of a year, various subtests are dropped or added in the Acadience program.

Quail Hollow has lost ½ FTE for next year due to declining enrollment. Mr.DeMill has begun the interview process for anticipated staff vacancies in second and fourth grades for fall of 2022.

Motion to adjourn at 9:10 by Pat, seconded Cherie, Passed.
