SCC Meeting Minutes

 

Opening:

The regular meeting of Quail Hollow Elementary School Community Council was called to order at 8:00 am January 16, 2024 Quail Hollow Elementary School conference room by Chair Mike Sax.

Approval of Agenda

The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

Minutes approved from last meeting.

  1. Open Issues
  • Land trust information-Discussed spending so far on Land Trust dollars. We are slightly below what we anticipated for spending to date but believe that we will catch up by the end of the year. No amendments to be made at this time.
  • 2022-2023 final scores reviewed showing the gains made in reading and math scores. Mr. Demill will be posting the numbers to the Land Trust.
  • Looked at how Quail Hollow compared at benchmark compared to other schools in the district at the beginning of this school year.
  • White Ribbon Week-PTA is doing this year but SCC will take it on for next year.
  • TSSP plan-Will have the data at the February meeting to discuss more in detail. Suggested ideas today: 2nd math interventionist for next year, additional support for Thrive curriculum.
  • Wellness night- October 24th at 6:30 attendance was low. Next one will be on March 19th at 6:30 and have more advertising ahead of it. Flyers to put in kid’s planners, message from Mr. Demill. Breanne will be heading this and reaching out for speaker. Stacey will speak to some doctors as well for potential speakers.
